Pheew! I haven't been here in quite some time. This is officially the last note for 2022. So, when the year started, we agreed I'd be sending out 52 notes. Ordinarily, this should be Note 52, but life happened and we are looking at Note 13.
I owe you 40 Notes and I promise to make it up to you.
Let’s talk about 2022.
How was it for you?
For me, it wasn’t particularly my year. I stumbled into 2022, and now I am waltzing out. This doesn’t mean I didn’t have wins. I did, and I also had Ls. Big Ls. This is an honest note, right? So, let me be honest. In our taking account for the year, a lot of us focus on what worked and we leave out our shortcomings, where we failed, lapsed or could have done better. That's only half accountability and that is not accountability.
It is easier for the camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for Gen Zs to admit where they have failed (Doyin, 2022). (Don’t use this in your thesis)
But then, when you pull out the “W” sheet for 2022, create a section for your "L's.” As a result, you will be a full-fledged accountant. You have a balance sheet. Knowing what you left out in 2022 only makes planning for 2023 easier. Nobody will beat you if you did or did not win everywhere. So why not just list them out?
This is not meant to be a long note, I’m just here to say have a blast in 2023 and that, I am looking forward to coming back with my 52 Honest Notes in 2023.
Until I come your way again, enjoy your New Year's rice and chicken.
More drops of honey for the rest of 2022.
Thank you for your honesty
I needed this.
Still waiting for the 40 notes.😅
