A Note On Being Intentional

Definitely not easy but worth it

As a person, I pride myself on being intentional, but for the longest time, it has not been so. I have felt static, like life is passing me by. no zeal to do anything. I spent my hard-earned savings on wigs, and now I don’t have anywhere to go or the energy to go out. I am hungry. I'm staring at the wigs, and the wigs are staring back at me. 😂😂😂

Well, I am not built for all the scenarios. I like to be on the go. Moving. Taking Steps. Recording wins.

Recording wins? I think that's where my problem lies. I don’t know what it feels like to move through life without having a sense of accomplishment at every turn. So, no wins in a while, and I felt like an underachiever. Unnecessary tension and pressure that my wig could not fulfil anymore.

So I took a walk. After all, that is what self-help gurus say to do. Thankfully, the walk cleared my head. I realised that I had focused so much on my short-term goals that I had forgotten about my long-term plans. I have spent time stuck waiting for the next big thing while forgetting that there are other life-rewarding plans and goals ahead. I have also spent more time comparing my life to other people's.

And you are like me.

How?

Have you ever seen a movie and then gone ahead to Google the main actor who has your traits? You picture yourself as the character, and then you compare yourself to the actor. You have done this, right? How did you feel after?

It doesn’t have to be an actor, it can be your friend or even your relationship partner.

The sooner you do this, the sooner you lose focus on where you ought to be.

It is that simple.

Look at your own goals. congratulate people for their wins and move on. You have won before, and you will win again. If we all stop to look at each other’s wins, nobody will go anywhere again.

I didn’t plan to write this long. I didn’t even know what to write and thought of using ChatGPT, but I decided to write from the heart. I am glad I did.
