I have talked about 2023 enough; it is time to move forward. So, therefore, let me start by saying, No matter how e be, beta dey come.
I like planning a lot. I like being in control of situations, but I have learned heavily this year that ‘Man Proposes, God Disposes’. It is strange for me because this time last year, I felt heavily God speaking to me, with a list of promises and Bible verses to back them up. But now, that I look at it in retrospect, the promises were real, but I was acting based on my own will and desires, not what God willed. Strange right?
I wrote down these promises, but I didn’t write down my plans and dreams. Or they tried to find where they aligned with what was said. I have learned.
Another thing is that, despite my plans, I didn’t make room for life to happen to my plans. I didn’t make room for failure, disappointment, or things not going according to plan. So the moment one part of my plan derailed, everything else went along with it. I lost that momentum, and surely, I started feeling everything going down. Luckily, I decided to let some things go and focus on what I could still control.
The last part of my 2023 collapse was because I didn’t make a physical reality of my plans. The plans were in my head. I didn’t write them down. There is something about having your plans listed down that makes them feel more realistic. Yeah, I didn’t do that.
So now that I know all this, what have I learned?
Make sure my plans tally with what god is saying
Make room for the unexpected.
Write everything down. make everything plain, ‘that he may run that reads it’
I used to journal a lot in the past. So I am going back to it, and this year, I plan on making a vision board. This vision board will be my wallpaper for both my phone and PC. So that I can see it and jog myself back to the goal when I start feeling down. I didn’t have that this year, so I have had my course corrected and learned my lessons.
The good news is that for me, the new year doesn’t start until my birthday, January 27th. Yay! I like my calendar, which has zero worries and is not time-constrained.
I plan to create a video of vision boarding to explain what it is and what my process is like. So please look forward to it. If you liked today’s note, please share it with your friends, encourage them to subscribe, like it, and then leave a comment.
As I love to say, a drop of honey for your day.
