I think I may be in this type of relationship after dating three years long distance. We see each other every 3-4 months for 4-7 days and once for 14 days on a trip to Italy. He’s an introvert and has always been a private person. He now includes me in the small details about his children, both in their early twenties, and his parents but I have not met either his kids or parents which is unsettling for me! I’ve visited him in his home for 5 days and his kids live with their mother. He talks about being afraid to remarry siting he’s not sure how he can give me the life he wants me to have because of all his ex-wife was granted in the divorce 1/2 of his retirement for life. Reading this hits home and I see so much of us in these signs. I’ve got some praying to do! Thank you for this information!
Omg! I can't even put into words how much your piece hit home. It felt like you were putting my own thoughts into words—every sentence resonated so deeply and reading this was both validating and liberating. Thank you for expressing what so many of us struggle to articulate.
